Villa Norrskog

Set within a picturesque forest glen on the island of Torö, this project is conceived as a series of rustic, sculptural forms nestled within the landscape. Securing approval on unbuilt land within a highly sensitive development context, Rushton Arkitektur navigated the strict requirements of shoreline protection (strandskydd) and the freedom—and uncertainty—of being outside a detailed development plan (detaljplan).
Constructed from CLT (Cross-Laminated Timber), the architecture plays with asymmetrical forms, natural light, and varied textures. The result is a collection of thoughtful, honest structures defined by natural materials and simple, unfussy details

“Edd designed a small villa and guesthouse for us. We are very pleased with the design as it both unique and beautiful and well-suited to our lifestyle and the building site. Edd was especially helpful in bringing our vision for the project ‘down to earth’; keeping the big ideas while providing something that was achievable from a practical and budgetary perspective. He also helped us secure the planning permissions from the local building authority. Warmly recommend working with Edd!” Family K, Villa Norrskog
