The orientation, form and design of the fjällstuga are carefully conceived to exploit spectacular views across the valley towards the mountain range beyond.

Contemporary yet contextual.
The building form and plan echo the traditional architecture of the region. Untreated larch shingles, which are used on facades and roof, help to harmonise the new building within its natural woodland setting.
Smart yet rustic.
Simple, unfussy details and robust materials - such as chunky wooden slats and galvanised steel gutters with rainchains - create a more rustic feel as befitting this building’s environment and function.
